Magic Johnson is rated as the greatest point guard of all time by ESPN in 2007 as his stats were unbelievable. He would easily average triple doubles which is a very hard thing to do because you need to be present in every play. Magic Johnson averaged 19.5 points per game, 7.7 rebounds per game, 12.3 assists per game, 1.9 steals per game, and 0.3 blocks per game. He would have averaged more rebounds but his performance was hindered when he contacted HIV.

Magic Johnson contacted HIV in 1991 which caused him to retire for 4 years in the NBA. Magic Johnson has been inducted to the Hall of Fame twice for NBA and for the U.S Olympic Team for being a member of “The Dream Team” along with Michael Jordan. He became a spokesman for safe sex and HIV prevention. He was named as one of America’s most influential black businessman in 2009.
